Everyday healing is a mixture of treatments, both orthodox or complementary
- and the workings of the body's own healing abilities. For most illnesses this
is satisfactory, but in life-threatening and chronic illnesses, this is not
enough.
Energy healing sees the whole process of healing, whatever the method, as working with the body's energy fields. It may include treatments that work alongside the body's healing process (drugs, surgery, herbs, and the supplements) and those that enhance the body's healing process (such as homeopathy). Both ultimately affect the energy bodies.
Energy-based healing aims to restore completion, wholeness, contentment and joy. Healing may not come in the form we had imagined and may not correspond with a return to good health.
Sufferers from chronic, or even terminal, disease sometimes find that healing does not come because they are physically cured but because they see life in a new way, transcending suffering.
